WOW!!
WONDERFUL 2012 FASHION SHOW!
On every level, the 9th Annual Mujeres a Mujeres Fashion Show was a dazzling success: the tropical sun smiled on the nearly 400 chatting women attending the fundraiser at the Thomas Bartlett estate in La Penita; the meal was exceptional; the volunteer models looked stunning in local designer outfits; and the new runway was a real hit.

The emcees’ narrative intertwined with lively music to showcase the strutting models and there was a smile on every face. Best of all, the afternoon generated funds for the organization’s many charitable endeavors! Doing good never looked so lovely as the guests sparkled amid the stately palms and beautifully decorated tables.

Laughter and “Ohs” punctuated the festivities — this popular girls’ day out event draws excited guests from up and down the Riviera Nayarit coast. “It’s something I look forward to all year long!” said a guest from Ontario. “We plan our vacation in order to be here at the right time.” Besides the plentiful beverages and delicious chicken entree, the berry cheesecake dessert was heartily enjoyed before the show began.
The ever-popular 50/50 raffle did a brisk business and the lucky winner genrously donated $6,000 of her prize back towards university scholarships. All of the modeled outfits were crowd pleasers and the models wove through the tables so that each guest could get an up-close view. Many women were able to envision themselves wearing the unique ensembles.
IMPORTANT CHARITIES: In addition to funding university scholarships for girls from the Jaltemba area, the funds raised by Mujeres a Mujeres go to the breast cancer clinic, the La Penita Seniors Center and the local junior-high school. Every peso raised is used for local women and children.
GREAT DESIGNERS: A hearty round of applause celebrated the creative effort of designers Gella Navarro, Tzintzunzan Boutique, Lombok Boutique, and Lucy Moreno.

IT TAKES A TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS: This flawless afternoon event is the culmination of months of hard work and planning by nearly 100 volunteers. The 2012 Fashion Show Committee brainstormed and worked diligently to create a memorable special event that will have long lasting positive effects for the community. To the 40 models, thank you for your verve and winning smiles. You made everything look good! To the serving volunteers who worked during the event, hooray for a job well done! The service was great and much appreciated by the guests. Each of you made such a difference.

THANKS TO THE SPONSORS AND COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTORS: The new sponsorship appeal merits kudos: a special thanks goes to the many generous donors. In addition to the sponsors, many community businesses and individuals donated their time to the event for free or provided generous discounts. As a result, more of the event proceeds can go directly to charities. Thank you!
THANKS TO THE GUESTS: Thank you to everyone who joined us — your attendance at Fashion Show 2012 enables us to support the women and children of this community throughout the year. We’re thrilled that you enjoyed the show — see you next year!
